Sri Lanka Army 60th Anniversary

The Sri Lankan Army celebrates its 60th anniversary and its defeat of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) throughout the month of October with military parades, weapons exhibitions, and a show of military force through demonstrations. President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Chief of Defence Staff General Sarath Fonseka, Army Commander General Jagath Jayasuriya and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa also participated at the 60th anniversary celebration of the Sri Lanka Army.
